Office Space Planning & Design
Before anything is ordered, the plan has to work: headcount, departments, circulation, power, data, storage, code clearances. New Space produces AutoCAD furniture plans and test-fits for Houston offices, drawn by people who will also stand in the space and install what they drew, which keeps plans honest. When we supply the furniture, design and space planning are included at no charge.

Tell us about the space, the headcount and the timeline. We'll come back with real options and real numbers, usually at more than one price point.
What our planning covers
- Field measurement and verification of existing conditions
- AutoCAD furniture and workstation layouts with dimensioned typicals
- Test-fits for spaces you're considering leasing, so you know the real capacity before you sign
- Placement planning for electrical, data, wireless, furniture and equipment, coordinated with your electrician and IT contractor
- Reconfiguration studies of your existing furniture inventory
- Finish and fabric selections coordinated with your brand or building standard
Working with your project team
On larger projects we routinely work alongside architects, general contractors, property managers and cabling/data contractors. Our furniture plans slot into their construction sets, and our install schedule coordinates with theirs. On smaller projects, we're often the only drawing the project needs.
Planning that respects the budget
Because we supply new, refurbished and pre-owned product, our plans aren't tied to one catalog. If the budget is tight, we plan around refurbished systems; if part of your existing furniture is worth keeping, the plan reuses it.
Frequently asked questions
Is space planning free?
When New Space supplies the furniture, full-service design and space planning are included at no charge. For standalone planning work, such as test-fits, drawings for a landlord package, or plans another party will bid, we quote it as a service. Either way, you'll know before we start.
Can you tell us how many workstations fit in a space we're about to lease?
Yes. That test-fit question is one of the most common calls we get. Send the floor plan (a leasing PDF is fine) and your target headcount, and we'll give you a realistic capacity with code-compliant clearances, not a marketing number.
Do you work from existing AutoCAD files?
Yes. We can start from your architect's DWG files, a landlord's CAD background, a PDF, or a tape measure and a blank sheet.
